There are a few things coming up that people might like to know about.
New Year’s Keiko
Kendo Ontario is holding a Kendo godo keiko to celebrate the new year. The event is organized by the Markham and Nikka Gakuen Kendo Clubs.
Time: Saturday, January 3, 2015.
Doors open @ 2:00 p.m., practice from 2:30~4:30
Location: Norman Bethune Collegiate Institute
200 Fundy Bay Boulevard, Scarborough
No fee, but donations appreciated to help cover the cost of space rental.
There will also be a special lecture by Uyenaka Sensei on the topic of Budo and Bushido.
S.W.O.R.D. Dojos Shinpan Seminar
The SWORD dojos are organizing a shinpan (refereeing) seminar.
It will be open to all players who want to learn more about how to referee, as well as those who want to learn how to play better in tournaments.
The date, time and location have yet to be set, but we’re anticipating it will be held sometime in February. Please stay tuned for more details.
1000 Cut Challenge
This is always an interesting event!
We’re looking to hold this on Saturday, January 28th. It will be a fundraising event for Team Canada. Watch for more details!
